Digigram to highlight AES67 inexpensiveness and simplicity at 140th AES Convention

WORLD: A team from Digigram will be hosting an engineering brief at the 140th AES Convention, taking place at 9am on Saturday 4th June in the foyer of the Palais des Congrès in Paris. The brief seeks to debunk the notion that setting up an AES67 network is complex and expensive by presenting the results from real-world experiments and showing how the process can be simple and inexpensive, while maintaining a high level of performance.

Digigram’s head of research, Nicholas Sturmel, support and programming engineer, Mickaël Henry, and CNSMDP student Lucas Rémond will present the brief, entitled Setting Up and Making an AES67 Network Coexist with Standard Network Traffic. Together, they will detail how an AES67 network can work as part of a standard non-audio network, while describing the challenges faced during setup.

The utility of network protocols required will also be analysed, as will the results from a network comprising 10 different AES67 compliant products from a range of manufacturers, supporting a variety of AoIP protocols. Those in attendance will also receive recommendations to enable quality of experience whilst ensuring that networks coexist.

‘This Engineering Brief perfectly highlights Digigram's innovation and expertise in network engineering with regards to audio applications for broadcast, not only in terms of providing AES67 endpoints such as soundcards and codecs but also on the whole AoIP system,’ said Mr Sturmel. ‘Participating at the 140th AES Convention is an example of the value Digigram places on network engineering education. Ultimately, we're helping our customers provide the best quality of service possible for the lowest network infrastructure cost.’
