WORLD: CEDAR Audio’s DNS 2 dialogue noise suppressor has won the CAS (Cinema Audio Society) award for in the Outstanding Product in Production category. The 53rd edition of the awards ceremony was held recently in the Bunker Hill Ballroom of the OMNI Los Angeles Hotel.
The award was accepted on behalf of CEDAR by Trew Audio CEO, Glen Trew. The manufacturer previously won a CAS award in 2009 for technical excellence in postproduction for its DN3000 dialogue noise suppressor.
‘We are very proud that a CEDAR product has again won a CAS award,’ enthused Gordon Reid, managing director of CEDAR Audio. ‘Somebody once told me that winning one award can be a happy accident, but winning a second shows that you've really arrived. We designed the DNS 2 after many discussions with members of the CAS and their counterparts elsewhere who needed a processor of this type, so you can imagine how happy we are when they tell us that we got it right. And nothing tells us more than this award. We would very much like to thank the CAS “Blue Ribbon” nominating committee and everyone who voted for the DNS 2.’
