Eighteen Sound opens new production facility

WORLD: Eighteen Sound has recently finished construction on a brand new 600 sq-m warehouse facility after the original warehouse was destroyed in a fire two years ago. The new facility is intended to increase productivity and flexibility in the warehousing and quality control areas and also features a brand-new state-of the-art anechoic chamber and test centre.
‘It is wonderful to have the new building up and 100 per cent functional,’ explained Eighteen Sound CEO, Pierpaolo Marziali. ‘Since the fire we have been challenged with space management – today the new warehousing section is loaded with raw goods and parts, and space is no longer an issue.’
While the new facility was being constructed, the manufacturer also acquired space directly adjacent to it that is now home another 1,700 sq-m building for storage, shipping and receiving. The close proximity of the two buildings has reportedly streamlined operations and allows for easier access to key production parts.
‘It is always exciting to see growth and development that contributes to product quality and availability,’ concluded Mr Marziali. ‘It is a perfect example of taking something that was bad and making it into something positive for the company and our customers.’
