WORLD: British lighting manufacturer GDS has expanded its architectural lighting team with the appointment of Lorraine Nugent. Ms Nugent joins the team as business development manager, bringing with her a wealth of experience as an architectural interior designer at high profile companies such as Concord Lighting and Jaguar Cars. In her new role, Ms Nugent will be involved in sales and design, adopting a ‘whole project’ approach.
‘As we expand the scope of applications for GDS products, it's essential that we bring on board team members with both technical expertise and specific market experience,’ said GDS managing director Matt Lloyd. ‘Lorraine is exactly the person to take GDS' products further and deeper into the architectural lighting sector. An impressive career track-record, working with blue-chip brands, illustrates the high level of skill that she possesses and her relationship-centred approach is a perfect fit for GDS. I'm delighted to welcome Lorraine to the team and look forward to the undoubted impact she will deliver in developing this area of the business.’
‘GDS’ status in the theatre-lighting world is of the highest order and the products are superb,’ said Ms Nugent. ‘The potential for their placement within the architectural lighting field is huge and I believe that my knowhow and understanding of this sector can really take GDS forward. I'm full of enthusiasm for the task and really pleased to be joining what is clearly an excellent team.’
