WORLD: Grass Valley has announced Neerav Shah as its senior vice president of strategic marketing in the wake of his recent experience in senior leadership positions at Arris and Verimatrix. These companies possess savvy in developing solutions for delivering and monetising multiplatform content, an area in which Grass Valley is currently targeting. Coinciding with this appointment, Michael Cronk, who previously occupied Mr Shah’s new role, will now serve as vice president of core technology, where he will be leading a product development initiative that will reportedly ensure interoperability and consistency across the manufacturer’s portfolio.
With over 25 years of experience in product development, marketing, operations and business development, Mr Shah specialised in strategy and product development, earning an MBA from Yale. He will head-up a team to refine the manufacturer’s product strategy and market positioning as the needs of the broadcast sector continue to evolve.
‘The broadcast community is undergoing a substantial shift, both in the migration to IP infrastructures and in the need for content to be delivered to multiple platforms simultaneously,’ explained Grass Valley president Marco Lopez. ‘Neerav’s expertise in these areas and his ability to navigate complex technology transitions will pay real, immediate dividends and enable us to meet the changing needs of our core market.’
