WORLD: One of the leading voices in Chinese theatre is to present a keynote address at Pro Light & Sound 2016. Guang Jian Gao, the designer-in-chief and art director of Beijing’s Chinese national centre of performing arts, will deliver the lecture on Thursday April 7th as part of a seminar programme attached to the revamped exhibition.
Described as China’s leading stage designer, Mr Gao has garnered a number of accolades during his two decade career. His credits include Rigoletto, The Magic Flute, Don Pasquale, Nora, The Wager, The Orphan of Zhao and the opera Turandot by Zhang Yimou. At the 2015 Quadriennale in Prague, he was presented with the gold medal for the best stage design.
Mr Gao’s appearance at the exhibition is due to take place during a year of reinvention for Pro Light & Sound. The 2016 show will mark the first time that it has been separated from Musikmesse, with its own dates running from April 5th to 8th, and the MI-focused event instead running on April 7th to 10th. Additionally, new opening will be debuted alongside changes in halls.
Mr Gao will deliver his lecture at Forum.0 within the Frankfurt Fair and Exhibition Centre on April 7th at 3.30pm.
