Harman joins AIMS during summer membership surge

WORLD: The Alliance of IP Media Solutions (AIMS) has reported vast growth in its membership during the past quarter with 15 companies joining its ranks. Included in the recent intake are Canon, Ciema, Gefei, LiveU and tcp as well as Harman. AIMS ‘promotes the adoption of an open-standards approach in transitioning to IP-based broadcast and video production workflows’ and has recently surpassed 50 members.

Reportedly the world’s largest pro audio, video, lighting and control products manufacturer, Harman is the parent company of brands such as JBL, Crown Audio, dbx, Martin Professional and AKG Acoustics among others. It is noted that Harman was one of the earlier adopters of audio networking technology, with products such as HiQNet and BSS Soundweb cited as examples.
