IABM endorses DPP
WORLD: The IABM has recognised the Digital Production Partnership (DPP) under its Industry Collaborative Group Endorsement Programme. DPP joins AIMS, MOS Development Group, SMPTE and Video Services Forum in achieving the status.
The DPP brings together producers, postproducers, manufacturers, suppliers, service providers and broadcasters working towards solutions to the emerging challenges of working with digital media. It has defined and implemented some common specifications – most notably for file-based programme delivery.
‘The DPP is delighted to receive this endorsement from the IABM,’ said Mark Harrison, DPP managing director. ‘We have huge respect for the authority and experience the IABM brings to the industry. Any opportunity to work more closely with them will be a pleasure for us and, we believe, a great benefit to the wider media community.’
‘While the DPP may be best known for its pioneering work in standardising the AS-11 DPP specification that removed a major roadblock for UK broadcasters in file-based content delivery, it continues to carry out important work in many areas of the industry,’ added Stan Moote, IABM CTO. ‘DPP is in many ways the perfect model for a collaborative group – working for the benefit of all.’
