iZotope’s Pro Audio Essentials training signals game on

WORLD: Audio production software house, iZotope has released a free educational course for producers to hone their audio skills, dubbed Pro Audio Essentials (PAE). For beginners and experienced producers alike, PAE is game-based and designed for users to practice concepts, gaining or improving their practical skills and understanding of equalisation, compression, bit depth and sample rate.
iZotope’s director of education, PAE, the Grammy nominated Jonathan Wyner designed the course with a combination of audio games, ear training and instructional videos comprising an interactive learning environment. Skills will be developed in the areas of recording, mixing, and mastering.
‘We were eager to evolve the current landscape of audio education – to help shift the balance from passive learning to active learning on foundational topics like EQ,’ explained Mr Wyner. ‘We challenged ourselves to develop an online resource that’s both interactive and engaging, so our community can not only learn by doing, but genuinely enjoy themselves along the way.’
‘It’s a thrill to hear back from participants who feel they are improving,’ added vice president of education and content-marketing at iZotope, Claire Harding Hollenbeck. ‘For us, it’s all about helping music-makers succeed, and we know that stronger skills lead to better-sounding tracks.’
