Lectrosonics mourns former president John Arasim

WORLD: Lectrosonics has announced, with great sadness, that its former president and chairman of the board, John Arasim, passed on Monday 30 May. In a statement, the company noted that Mr Arasim’s two passions in life were his family and his work, and that he passed with his family by his side.
‘John Arasim was the very definition of an ethical leader with incredible business acumen,’ said current Lectrosonics president, Gordon Moore. ‘He set the tone. He hired the best, he expected the best and he rewarded the best. He demanded honesty and ethics above all.’
Prior to his time at Lectrosonics, Mr Arasim ran the New Mexico operations at Sparton Industries, from which he kept a mechanical UHF tuner for the F-105 Starfighter as a sample of his work there, bringing it out of his desk to show off to anyone that inquired. He was also involved in the development of the first directional sono-buoy and designing high reliability failsafes.
Mr Arasim operated under the mantra that Lectrosonics be an engineering-driven company and during his tenure was said to demand the best of his staff, rewarding them with good pay and benefits, as well as a good working environment. While at the helm, Mr Arasim oversaw the addition of pro audio to include camera mount receivers, plug-on transmitters, bag systems, camera hops and quad boxes, and it was under his guidance that Lectrosonics made its mark on the film and televisions sectors.
While conducting business at Lectrosonics, Mr Arasim reportedly stuck to three principles: ‘We build the best product we know how to build’, ‘We don't do business with the government’, and ‘We have fun’. The manufacturer hopes to honour its former president by continuing to operate adhering to these philosophies. In its statement, the manufacturer declared that the ‘entire Lectrosonics family will miss him’.
