Mark Mayfield to lead QSC cinema marketing

WORLD: QSC has promoted Mark Mayfield to the position of director, global cinema marketing, a role that will see the industry veteran take overall responsibility for the US manufacturer’s cinema sound marketing strategy. He will also continue to function as product manager for the division.

My Mayfield first joined QSC in 2013 as cinema marketing manager, having previously held roles at JBL Professional and EAW. However, he is perhaps best known for his pioneering work with consultant John M. Eargle and David Gray of Dolby Labs; in 1997 the three men co-authored a SMPTE paper which formed the basis of the first practical 3-way speaker systems for cinemas. Immediately prior to joining QSC he worked as an independent marketing consultant.

‘In his three years at QSC, Mark has successfully retooled QSC’s marketing presence in the cinema industry, and greatly improved our customer communications,’ commented Barry Ferrell, senior vice president and chief strategy officer. ‘In his new role, Mark will apply his many years of experience in cinema marketing to expanding the global visibility of the QSC brand and leading the creation of products and support programs.’
