PHILLIPINES: Following the move to a new campus, a new Renkus-Heinz sound reinforcement system has been installed by Joint Venture Sound, Light, and Entertainment Concepts at Christ’s Commission Fellowship in Manila. The audio design was handled in part by Vance Breshears from Acoustic Dimensions.
Having grown from a humble 40-member evangelistic bible study group to become one of the world’s mega-churches with membership in the tens of thousands, it comes as no surprise that the congregation has moved buildings several times to accommodate new guests. This sustained expansion has culminated recently in the opening of a world headquarters, a nearly 70,000 sq-m building home to the church’s office and school, a youth and sports centre, a 10,000-seat chapel, and a 2,000-seat overflow hall.
The main audio installed system comprises 36 Renkus-Heinz STLA/9R line array loudspeakers with front fill provided by 40 Sygma Series SG81-2R 8-inch two-way loudspeakers. Low end reinforcement was provided courtesy of 12 DR18-2R dual 18-inch subwoofers.
The smaller 2,000-seat overflow hall is covered by a system of 16 CF101LA-52R modular point source line array speakers, with a further 26 SG81-2R cabinets covering front fill. Four DR18-2R subs handle the bottom end in the room.
Renkus-Heinz senior vice president Ralph Heinz and engineer KK Tan assisted with commissioning the system. ‘The new CCF church headquarters is a breathtakingly beautiful architectural space, and Renkus-Heinz is proud to have been selected to provide the sound for their new, state-of-the-art chapels,’ remarked Mr Heinz.
