AJA streamlines Bread of Life production workflow

HONG KONG: Four AJA Video Systems Ki Pro Racks have been installed at 611 Bread of Life Christian Church in North Point, Hong Kong by Live Group Ltd. Live Group also provides continual A/V systems services for the church’s many productions and uses the racks to record services in Apple Pro Res 422 from Sony BRC H900 cameras. The new equipment has enabled the team to transition to a file-based production workflow, streamlining turnaround times and improving final production quality.
‘We were looking for a standalone, cost-effective solution for video recording, and AJA’s Ki Pro Rack was the perfect fit,’ explained Cyril Lam, director of Live Group. ‘It’s been a popular choice for many live entertainment productions around the world and has allowed us to create hours of high-quality recordings for live worship services that church members and online followers can view on the web.’
Live Group also installed HRS Control’s Universal Device Controller (UDC) software to provide automated workflows. Once files are recorded, UDC directs the racks to automatically off-load files to specific storage locations. ‘Using UDC we’re able to get specific playlists from multiple Ki Pro Racks, load the clips and play them back simultaneously,’ furthered Mr Lam. ‘UDC provides us with a single point of control on stage that gives us more accuracy with less manpower.’
‘We’ve always had success working with AJA technology, and adding UDC to the mix has not only proven cost effective, but also improved the quality of our work,’ he concluded. ‘This is not something most products on the market are capable of doing; we’re continually impressed by the possibilities that AJA technology affords.’
