Amadeus provides tailored solution for Daegu Full Gospel Church

KOREA: Having experienced continued growth in recent years, Daegu Full Gospel Church in South Korea has replaced its existing 10-year-old audio infrastructure with a new sound system from French-manufacturer Amadeus. Realising the need for a new high-quality setup that worked both in harmony with the building’s architecture while appreciating its structural weaknesses, the management enlisted the help of Amadeus importer, C2 Corp to oversee the project. C2 Corp worked in partnership with installers Polyworx Audio and Barum Systems to complete the upgrade.
‘In the first phase of the project, C2 Corp was involved as an A/V consultant for general design and project supervision,’ stated Dongyup Kwak, CEO of C2 Corp. ‘After many discussions, we chose the Amadeus speaker line to fulfil the audio and architectural requirements for the church.’
The new system consists of 24 Diva XS enclosures – ceiling-hung in clusters of eight, with two Diva XS 15 subwoofers suspended above them on the left and right clusters. Further low frequency reinforcement is provided from four ML 18 X subwoofers on the ground.
‘Daegu Full Gospel Church has a ceiling that could not bear a lot of weight and there were colour matching issues as well, however, Amadeus was able to provide perfect solutions for each issue,’ added Mr Kwak. ‘The Amadeus sound system is very small in size but offers a very clean and powerful sound. This worked perfectly with the limitations on weight for hanging from the ceiling.’
A further eight PMX 8s complete the speaker complement, two of which are ceiling-hung to provide additional coverage for the choir, with the remaining six responsible for on-stage monitoring. All of the flown speakers feature a custom tri-colour finish to blend stylishly with the building’s interior design.
‘Barun System had a big challenge with this project. Initially we were not sure that the Amadeus system would be able to fill the large church space, but after installation, we felt the compact Diva XS was a brilliant and smart solution,’ explained Donghun Kwon, CEO of Barum Systems. ‘We believe that the Amadeus system is quite a big success for the Daegu Full Gospel Church.’
Despite the installation challenges, Mr Kwak agreed: ‘The sound is perfect! And Amadeus was able to provide a beautiful colour combination to match the Church's architecture.’
