Bread of Life goes with Cayin

TAIWAN: The growth in congregation at Bread of Life Christian Church in Shilin since it opened in 1995 has necessitated a new building for the Taiwanese church. The move to the new site, which can accommodate 1,000 people, has seen Bread of Life take the opportunity to upgrade its A/V technology to create a contemporary environment including a new digital signage system from Cayin Technology.
Two of the manufacturer’s SMP-WEB4 digital signage players send content to 26 LCD screens around the new site. The players are equipped with the A/V-in function, so can receive signals from digital cameras at the stage and transmit real-time full-screen video to all landscape and portrait displays.
The church’s digital sign layout includes video, an image slide show, ticker, date and time. The new Cayin system helps the church to communicate messages to the congregation inside the church and also reach out to the audience outside the building. All the screens can be used to promote upcoming events, training camps, seminars, announcements, as well as pictures of past events.
The players provide the content for a 3x3 wall of 42-inch screens broadcasting live services to pedestrians outside the church as well as a 65-inch display hung above the entrance to the fellowship hall. Added to this are 15 55-inch units and another 65-inch display inside the fellowship hall which also draw their feed from the SMP-WEB4s. These were deemed necessary by the expanding church so that all members of the congregation could still see the pulpit in the new larger hall.
One of the particular highlights for this project is the way it has been able to integrate with other A/V and broadcast equipment. The administrator can switch between different signals immediately and show content including handouts and videos on all screens which flow with the service. Content can also be switched between lyrics and the live performance of the choir on the stage.
