Carbonite ensures the message reaches everyone

AUSTRALIA: A Ross Video Carbonite production switcher has been installed at Influencers Church Paradise Campus in Adelaide. With an expanding congregation spread over five campuses and two countries, the church sought a way to provide every member of its main congregation with a ‘front-row’ experience. It also wanted to unify services between locations despite the obvious geographical challenges.
‘In 2013, we were planning to move from an outside-broadcast truck to a studio install. I went through a lengthy selection process, but was disappointed with the lack of support I received from many vendors,’ said Tristan Hebart, TV and production technician at Influencers Church. ‘I was impressed by Ross Video, though, and its products and services. Carbonite’s flexibility, for example, gave us the ability to expand what we do, and its extensive features and options meant I could buy one switcher rather than multiple different pieces of equipment. Team Ross was also extremely helpful and went above and beyond, helping in ways I never imagined.’
The Carbonite switcher allows the church to create custom panels and switch between the live stream feeds being sent to different campuses. The switch is setup to cut live video to its I-MAG screens on stage and is also used to deliver integrated systems, such as lower thirds, and do a live cut for DVDs sold straight after the service.
‘Carbonite is head and shoulders above our previous switcher, and an invaluable tool for connecting our congregations to our church and each other,’ continued Mr Hebart. ‘It has the features I’ve needed to pull off every creative idea we’ve had to date, including frame accurate triggering, and syncing large-scale videos with live music. I also love that Ross is continually bringing out new, free updates, which contain so many great features for its hardware products like Carbonite.’
