Cine Teatro Padre Giacomo Martegani upgrades with Yamaha

ITALY: A recent refurbishment at the Cine Teatro Padre Giacomo Martegani in the Italian commune of Cairate, Lombardy, has included the installation of a complete Yamaha audio system. Run by a core of around 50 local volunteers of all ages, the 260-seat venue hosts theatrical and dance performances, live music, meetings and a range of other local events. Its core aim is to promote local culture, education and a sense of community and it therefore required an audio system capable of catering equally to its many events. Rome-based systems supplier Delta Tecno Studio has a local office in nearby Varese, and Delta Tecno’s technical manager Pier Luigi Pecchenini worked closely with the church’s Pastor Don Basilio Mascetti to specify the system.
‘We needed an audio system that would fulfil the many and varied requirements of a venue which is at the very heart of the community,’ commented Mr Pecchenini. ‘It also needed to dovetail seamlessly with a Kramer Electronics video system. We have a long-term partnership with Yamaha and knew that their installation products would provide a complete, high quality system from mixing and audio processing right through to output and monitoring.’
Mr Pecchenini’s choice of Yamaha equipment was endorsed by the venue’s director of operations, Fabrizio Ferrario. The system comprises an MGP32X 32-channel mixer, CD-S300 CD player, BD-S677 Blu-ray player, DME24N digital mixing engine and a pair of MSP5 Studio monitors in the venue’s control room.
The main auditorium has been outfitted with a pair of ceiling-mounted IF2112/95W full range loudspeakers and an accompanying a DSR118W under stage subwoofer. Two additional IF2205Ws have been installed as delays. The entire system is driven by XP3500 and XP2500 power amplifiers with a CP4SF panel providing control for church users.
‘We did an EASE simulation of the proposed system and were very satisfied with the results, especially as the loudspeakers are so compact,’ added Mr Pecchenini. ‘As expected, once it was installed it delivered great sound pressure and quality, satisfying all the requirements, from speech to a wide range of music and film soundtracks. That's why Yamaha was the perfect choice.’
