E-V keeps prayer on track at Masjid Soleehusslam

THAILAND: Masjid Soleehusslam Mosque in Min Buri has been equipped with a new Electro-Voice sound reinforcement system. The installation was carried out by Patararungroj Ltd with the main design considerations being ease-of-operation and a high enough SPL to eradicate disruptions during prayer.

The mosque has been serving Muslims in Min Buri for more than 60 years, and now conducts activities on a daily basis, where attendance can often breach 1,000 people. The system in use there was old, and the leaders were looking to replace it with a ‘reliable and high-quality system’ that would also be powerful enough to override distractions. Speech intelligibility in all areas of the mosque was also deemed highly important. In addition to this, there are no dedicated technical staff at the mosque, so the solution employed needed to be simple.

Patararungroj designed a system for the main hall, front of hall, and prayer room, which was built around Electro-Voice ZX1 loudspeakers paired with RE-2 wireless transmitters and microphones. Additional E-V PL24S microphones are also used for high frequency content.

With the new equipment in place, the mosque was reportedly impressed with the ‘clarity, volume, and lack of suppression’, and as the system is intuitive enough to be operated by anyone, carrying out daily prayers is now ‘effortless, clear and audible in all corners of the mosque’.
