Elation to sponsor free seminar by LD Jonathan Smeeton

WORLD: Elation Professional is sponsoring a free presentation by renowned lighting designer Jonathan Smeeton, aimed at university level and other aspiring lighting designers. The instructional seminar, titled Lighting Design and its Application for the Stage, will be held on 13th May at the company's Los Angeles headquarters.

The seminar, the second Elation-sponsored event by Jonathan Smeeton following last year’s Concert Lighting seminar in Mexico City, is part of the Elation Educational Experience (E3) programme, a continuing commitment by the company to give back to the industry through a series of educational events that bring design methodologies, new technology and real world practice to young designers.

During the seminar, Mr Smeeton will draw on his extensive industry knowledge to present an overview of the history of entertainment lighting and will examine modern versus traditional technologies and techniques.  Attendees will also gain insight into the lighting and stage design process and its realities using three anecdotal examples taken from his extensive list of references.
