Gecko pitches in at Family Camp

MALAYSIA: The Cornerstone Church organised its Cornerstone Family Camp 2011 at the Hotel Equatorial Melaka recently. As well as activities such as telematches and soccer games, the international camp also featured guest speakers Nicky Raiborde and Dr Ted Roberts. Overseeing the sound reinforcement for the 900-plus attendees at the seminars was Gecko Music Group, a Melaka-based pro audio manufacturer and solutions company.
The hall’s sound reinforcement system is a full Gecko rental system comprised of: Exodus MXR 3240DSP mixing console; Revelation SR loudspeakers; Genesis AG power amplifiers; Eternity CMP 2408 compressor/gate units; and Destiny EQ 7043 equalizers – including Gecko cables and even connectors.
Daniel Foo, founder and R&D Director of Gecko Music Group, was very pleased with the good response from the attendees to the sound quality. ‘We used only one pair of our Revelation loudspeakers for the event,’ he said. ‘Using our proprietary Cristal Waveguide Technology, we are able to create a wide sweet spot for the entire ballroom and deliver a balanced and equal volume from the front to back rows.
The SR 615 is a 15-inch, two-way full-range long-throw loudspeaker with audiophile quality for live applications. Gecko also supplied its Passion MP Series Wireless Microphone System which after four days of usage still had almost 75% of the 2 x AA 1.5V battery life left, at the end of the camp.
