HH distributes the message at Saint Clement’s Church

PHILIPPINES: HH Electronics’ newest distributor in the Philippines, Lyric Piano & Organ Co received its first shipment of equipment just last month. Not wasting any time, Lyric’s dealer, 71 Audiohaus & Electronics Services has already completed a distributed audio installation at the Redemptorist Church in La Paz, Iloilo City. The aim of the project was to address speech intelligibility problems experienced by members of the congregation.

Opened in 1946, the building more commonly referred to as Saint Clement’s Church boasts a modern exterior adorned with white balusters lining the balcony outside. Inside the design is simple with few distractions, aiming to provide the congregation with an atmosphere suited to meditation and prayer. Capable of seating 900 people, the building hosts daily catholic services for the local population.

The 71 Audiohaus team opted to install a distributed system, mounting eight Tensor TRE108 8-inch passive enclosures and eight Tensor TRE108A active cabinets to the building’s central columns. Two speakers were mounted per column, angled 180-degrees apart to provide even coverage for both the main seating and side transept areas. An additional RED12A full range loudspeaker was positioned at the Alter for monitoring purposes and the active column mounted speakers were powered by an HH SR900 amplifier. Condenser microphones were also supplied for use with the system, giving the installers some challenges tackling feedback in the reverberant environment. This, however, was resolved with some carefully applied equalisation.

‘HH speakers are easy to set-up,’ explained Banjo Jap, owner of 71 Audiohaus & Electronic Services. ‘I easily reached the desired volume level clearly without feedback.’

With the installation completed the church’s management was very pleased with the new system. ‘It can deliver and spread the words of God with clarity,’ a spokesman remarked.

The results have also been obvious for the audience: ‘I can now fully understand the mass because the voice of the priest is so clear,’ a congregation member noted.

The installation marks the first project undertaken since Lyric was appointed as HH distributor.

‘We are extremely pleased to be working with Lyric Piano Co. Although they are relatively new players to the Professional Audio Market, they are well respected and have been a very established supplier of musical instruments and sound equipment for over 50 years,’ explained Ian Wright, HH Electronics international sales manager. ‘The addition of the HH Electronics line is a perfect opportunity for them to expand their business more into professional audio without having too many other brands to distract their focus. I am excited about the team's passion and eagerness to do their best for the brand.’
