Hyosung Central Church opts for HK Audio

KOREA: Hyosung Central Church in Incheon City has installed a new sound system based around an HK Audio Cohedra line array solution. The system was designed by Noil Song of local supplier Midigraphics and installed by J-Vision.
The 17,000 capacity hall is covered by left and right hangs of eight CDR208 cabinets below two CDR210 subs. Centre fill comes from four CDR 108Cs. Power for the line array is provided by three Lab.gruppen FP10000Q amps with the centre fill powered by an HK Audio VX2400. The monitor system is also from HK Audio, using CT112s, CT108s, IL80TWs and IL80TBs. Power for these speakers is via a range of Yamaha amps.
According to Mr Song, there were several reasons behind the selection of the Cohedra line array. ‘The sound is great and natural. It has a good quality of long-throw delivery sound, the 10-inch sub has a clean, low sound and the compact size of the CDR208s means they don’t block the audience’s view.’
The church has also invested in a 64-in/32-out Venue Profile system and ProTools HD 64-track bundle from Avid. The mic package includes wireless options from Shure and DPA, a Countryman gooseneck mic and suspension mics from Schoeps and AKG. The recording room relies on equipment from Apogee and Avid for the audio converter and interface, signal processing comes from Millenia, Neumann provides the microphone system and control comes from Tascam.
