TURKEY: Through its dealer network, Ertekin Elektronik has recently equipped two prominent Istanbul mosques with new sound systems.
The first mosque to be equipped is Yeni Camii – or New Mosque – which has had a TOA system supplied through Proges Elc. The system is based on TOA’s BS-1030 series and includes 71 of the white BS-1030W and 21 of the black BS-1030B. The speakers have been positioned around the external courtyard of the mosque as well as around the perimeter of the prayer hall. To supplement the system, there are also TH-650 and SC-615M horn speakers from the manufacturer. Power for the entire system comes from TOA amps.
Also in use at Yeni Camii are a variety of mics from Sennheiser, MG-8/2 CX and MG-16/6 CX mixers from Yamaha and all the cabling is from Klotz.
The second site to benefit from a new system is the Süleymaniye Camii, the second largest mosque in the city. For this project, which was supplied through Ertekin’s dealer ANC Elc, the system was based around HK Audio’s Elements system. The mosque has installed 60 E-435 mid-high units hung above the light fittings inside the prayer hall. Power for the speakers is via 15 HK Audio EA-600 600W amps.
Cables are again from Klotz, with the PL22Y12 12-channel multicore and MC-5000 mic cable in use. A Yamaha MG-20/6 C mixer has been supplied whilst Neutrik connectors are used throughout. Completing the audio solution are mics from Sennheiser, with seven E-965 large diaphragm condenser microphones forming the main component. Also in use are the EW-312 G3 wireless and HSP-2 headworn units.
