PHILIPPINES: JB Music Audio Solutions recently supplied and installed equipment from brands Martin Audio and Lab.gruppen for the To God Be The Glory church’s anniversary celebration event held at the Cuneta Astrodome in Pasay City.
Lead by the distribution company’s technical supervisor Allen Veluz, the team hung 16 Martin Audio W8LC three-way line array enclosures in a configuration of eight per side with eight WS218X sub bass systems for low end. The system was powered by Lab.gruppen’s PLM 10000Q and PLM 20000Q loudspeaker management systems. JB Music Audio Solutions completed the speaker set up, testing and sound checking in less than one day.
‘The church had previously tried a lot of different brands, and were very impressed with the improvement in sound when they heard the Martin Audio system combined with Lab.gruppen’s Lake processing,’ said Randy E Asuncion, pro audio division manager at JB Music Audio Solutions. ‘It was easy for them to make the decision when the quality stands out like this. Plus they were pleased with the after sales support, and of course, by our range of services as the exclusive local distributor of these brands.
‘To God Be The Glory selected Martin Audio’s W8LC line array over other brands simply because every event they hold has a significant number of attendees, and to cover every metre of the venue requires this kind of system,’ he continued. ‘The worship celebration was attended by over 20,000 people, but the Martin Audio equipment delivered a balanced audio distribution and covered every area in the event. Even the audience near the stage experienced no problems with the audio since the church used W8LMD down-fills combined with the Lake processing, which made the settings so easy.’
Mr Asuncion admitted that a challenge presented itself in the form of delivering the correct decibel level in every corner of the venue, but insisted that ‘it took less time to solve this problem due to the quality of the audio equipment offered by Martin Audio and Lab.gruppen. I was really blown away by Lab.gruppen's Lake processing and with the optimal sound quality of the W8LC,’ he added.
Continuing, Mr Asuncion said: ‘After the first demo it was very clear that the client was very happy, and they immediately purchased the system. The church leaders really noticed how the church-goers seemed to increase their participation in the celebration because everybody enjoyed the improved audio experience. Before, certain areas had poor audio so the participation wasn’t as good, but not this time, and all the areas were reached.’
Since using the system, the client is now looking to purchase and expand its system with an additional 16 units of the W8LCs with a number of WS218Xs, along additional Lab.gruppen equipment. ‘They are one happy church,’ Mr Asuncion enthused.
