K-array’s a success with pastors

WORLD: A K-array audio system was used for the recent National Conference Network City Church Project in Potsdam, Germany. The event was host to more than 100 pastors located throughout Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, with the KR202 system reportedly helping the team cater to very quick turn around times.

The meeting took place at the tranquil Friedenskirche (Church of Peace) to discuss the future of the church’s presence in the local community. The audio setup, in particular, required a flexible solution specifically for the transformation between discussions and the piano concerto that followed.

Gutfilm was handed the challenge of managing the audio and visual engineering for the day, opting to use Trius Audio as its supplier. Trius Audio in turn selected K-array’s KR202 column array speaker systems.

‘The challenge was the tight turn around times between the conference set up to the piano concerto show,’ said Gutfilm’s Olaf Gutowski. ‘We needed to find a system that is fast but still sounds great. K-array answered our problems with ease.’

‘The one thing we didn't expect was the attention the speakers received. Astonishing looks and curious questions by the attendees about the high speech intelligibility and sufficient power reserves,’ continued Mr Gutowski. ‘During the subsequent sound checks, the pianist and pastors were worried that the PA system would not be set up in time, however, they did not realise the KR202s were in fact the complete PA package. The compact designs had surprised everyone.’

Attached to the KMT18 active subwoofer, Gutfilm positioned two loudspeaker columns side by side on each unit. These were placed at the front of the room, facing the audience from either side, simultaneously creating front and side coverage.
