Mantas answers the call

INDONESIA: Melodia, the Indonedian rental company and local representative of Italian loudspeaker manufacturer Outline, recently used a comprehensive inventory of Outline products for a worship event at the Istora Senayan church.
Sound engineer for Melodia Budihardjo Sutanto oversaw FOH and system duties, making full use of 24 Outline Mantas enclosures, eight Outline Subtech subs and two Outline Genius system controllers.
‘For this event the church required a sound quality more like a high-end, home hi-fi system,’ said Melodia’s Rudy Winato. ‘On stage we had plenty of open mics, with several singers and band players for the performance. Given the great height of the venue, we used hangs of 12 Mantas on each side. These had to cover not only the stalls but also the seating areas on the sides of the stage, including left and right balconies. But the 120-degree vertical coverage of the Mantas fulfilled this demand with ease.
‘This was the first time that Istora Senayan had used Melodia’s rental services for three years,’ added Mr Winato. ‘More recently they’ve been using other rental companies’ systems but never seemed satisfied with them, but when we supported them using Outline’s Mantas system they were very happy with it. For the next event they will certainly call us and use our system again.’
