USA: Affiliated with the Marlton Assembly of God, the Marlton Field House recently opened its doors to its community, offering state-of-the-art facilities for soccer, basketball, conferences and more. The Marlton, New Jersey facility worked with audio visual integration firm Horizon AV for the deployment of sound reinforcement throughout the facility, featuring WorxAudio Technologies TrueLine and Wave Series loudspeakers.
The Marlton Field House aims to be the centrepiece of opportunity for area youth and adults. ‘The Marlton Field House project’s goal was to expand the campus and outreach activities of the Marlton Assembly of God, said Joshua Kell, chief operations officer of Horizon AV (who specialize in specialise in worship, performing arts and sports facilities). ‘Not only was the intention to offer a space for their youth programs, but for the community as well. This brand new complex is cutting edge in every aspect and the sound quality had to be every bit on par. We’ve always been impressed with the performance, build quality, and value of WorxAudio systems, so we knew their loudspeakers would be a great fit for this job.’
In the Youth Auditorium, Mr. Kell and the Horizon AV crew placed two WorxAudio (a division of Presonus Electronics) TrueLine X2 compact all-in-one line arrays—one each over the left and right front edges of the stage. With two medium format 1-inch exit compression drivers coupled to a stabilized proprietary FlatWave Former mated with four 8-inch cone transducers coupled to the (A.I.M.) Acoustic Integrating Module, the X2 provides a horizontal pattern of 160 degrees and a vertical throw of 30 degrees.
Low frequency support is achieved with the use of a single TrueLine TL118SS High SPL Sub Bass Loudspeaker System. The TrueLine TL.118SS utilizes a direct radiating 18-inch 2000W cone driver in a tuned enclosure, said by WorxAudio to provide maximum output with minimal distortion for smooth extended low frequency response.
On the soccer field, Mr. Kell and his team placed two outdoor rated WorxAudio TrueLine X3 compact all-in-one line array systems facing the width of the field so as to ensure even coverage across the entire area. Similar in design to the TrueLine X2, the TrueLine X3 incorporates three medium format 1-inch exit compression drivers mated with six 8-inch cone transducers. Dispersion characteristics include a horizontal pattern of 160 degrees with vertical throw equalling 40 degrees.
For the basketball court, Mr. Kell elected to place two WorxAudio Wave Series 12A point source loudspeakers. These enclosures were positioned centre court to ensure consistent coverage. The WorxAudio 12A has a one-inch exit compression driver coupled to a 75 X 75 degree wooden waveguide horn reproducing high frequencies. The HF complement is mated with a twelve-inch cone transducer in a tuned enclosure for the low frequencies. ‘The WorxAudio X2 and X3 have unusually broad horizontal throw that enables them to cover a considerably wider area than competing systems,’ said Mr. Kell. ‘Not only is speech intelligibility excellent—these enclosures are also very musical. There’s a Marlton Assembly of God youth service that is high energy thanks to a talented group of young musicians. Church management was looking for that concert-grade sound without breaking the budget. The WorxAudio X2s deliver that and more.”
The Marlton Field House project commenced in March 2015 and was placed into service almost immediately thereafter. Since that time, Mr. Kell reported that the loudspeaker systems have received numerous compliments. ‘Everyone has been very impressed with the sound quality of the WorxAudio equipment. Senior Pastor Jon Wagner recently took a close listen to the loudspeakers and has asked for his main sanctuary to have WorxAudio installed. When one project leads to another, it doesn’t get any better than that!’
