New forum for Asian HOWs

SINGAPORE: Houses of Worship Technologies Asia 2012 is Asia’s first dedicated exhibition and conference on HOW technologies and is to take place from 16th to 18th August 2012 at Suntec Singapore. ‘Houses of Worship Technologies Asia 2012 will allow our solution providers to cater specifically to the needs of the houses of worship sector’ said Anna Cheong, exhibitions director, IIR Exhibitions.

With over 5,000 multicultural houses of worship around South-East Asia, worship has become fertile ground for entertainment, communications and media technology. ‘New institutions are being built and older ones retrofitted to meet growing membership, creating various facilities ranging from small to mega worship spaces with state of the art acoustics, audio, video and lighting systems,’ stated IIR.

The HOW sector is described as huge and diverse. Requirements for each congregation differ from simple stage setups to more complex, multi-channel media solutions. Houses of Worship Technologies Asia 2012 promises to bring both the buyers and the sellers together and to educate and train worship teams in the use of today’s technologies. The South-East Asia region is said to have one of the fastest growing numbers of worship places in the world, with an average growth of over 19 per cent from the main religious groups over the last decade.

‘We are especially excited about the new opportunities we could offer to our exhibitors for the greater South-East Asian region,’ added Ms Chong. ‘Interest has been high and we really look forward to facilitate and assist our valued exhibitors to penetrate this growing segment. One of the key highlights for the event also includes a large and comprehensive educational programme to update worship leaders of the latest technologies and trends.’
