NWI 2014 chooses WorxAudio for fast teardown and wide coverage

WORLD: WorxAudio TrueLine equipment has been used to provide sound reinforcement for the recent Northeast Worship Institute (NWI) 2014. The event was hosted by Calvary Full Gospel Church in Fairlight Hills, Pennsylvania, with A/V integrator Horizon AV contracted to provide the audio system. The WorxAudio solution was decided upon following meetings with the organisers and consisted of a pair of TrueLine XL5T-P line array cabinets, each with accompanying TL218SST-P subs.
Taking place annually each spring, NWI provides a platform for experienced educators to provide training to worship teams, worship leaders and tech teams.
‘The WorxAudio system we deployed was for the main hall, and as a result was used for the larger gatherings,’ commented Joshua Kell, COO of Horizon AV. ‘The two XL5T-Ps were flown on each side of the stage at a height of 6m using Genie towers. The distance between the left and right hangs was 15m. For low-frequency support, the two TL218SST-P subwoofers were positioned next to each other, directly in front of the stage.
‘Due to the wide nature of the room, the XL5T-P’s broad 160-degree horizontal dispersion pattern was the ideal fit,’ he furthered. ‘Before the event began, we plotted the room with EASE Focus and the XL5T-P hit the mark for not only the width of the room but the length and balcony area as well. The fact that these two all-in-one enclosures can provide such wide coverage and excellent throw is amazing.’
The compact nature of the cabinets was also a big factor in the selection of TrueLine equipment as the stage had to be removed for services taking place the next day.
‘The all-in-one design of the XL5T-P line array was a huge benefit,’ he explained. ‘The XL5T-P enclosures came down quickly and were packed into their road cases and loaded into the truck in no time. There were no separate containers for each line array cabinet and no jumper cables to store – just one power line and one signal line. Teardown was very quick, and before we knew it, the stage was ready for Sunday services.'
The high quality of after sales support provided by the manufacturer is also a governing factor with regard to Horizon continually specifying its products. ‘We’ve been a dealer for over two years, and in our experience, WorxAudio offers responsive, personal support that makes you feel like you’re part of the family,’ concluded Mr Kell. ‘They’re always just a phone call away and are ready to answer your questions – and not just from the helpful staff but from director Hugh Sarvis, as well.’
