Outline supplies one of Koreas most important churches

KOREA: An award winner for its architectural design, GoChon Church has chosen Outline arrays and H.A.R.D. monitors made by Italian manufacturer Outline. The church, located in Kimpo, was built in 2009 and is also used as a performing arts centre.
The GoChon ethos is to focus on culture in a wider sense, and the church was built not only for use as a place of worship but also as a professional music venue. GoChon Church is also the home of the famous Kimpo International Youth Orchestra.
Initially focused on acoustic sound, the building required some measure of natural reverberation to accommodate its classical performances. But too much reverberation would have caused problems for a sound reinforcement system, so design and installation team Hebsiba Multimedia, Outline’s sole distributor in Korea, had to take various requirements into consideration. ‘It was really difficult to satisfy the pastor’s expectations, because he wanted truly high-end sound reproduction,’ said Hebsiba Multimedia CEO Sung Hwan Oh. ‘But there was a solution that was able to satisfy him: Outline’s Butterfly speaker system. The customer knew about Outline speakers through exhibitions in Korea and, after hearing the Butterfly sound, felt that it was the only system to install at the GoChon church.’
‘I’m very satisfied with the system,’ added GoChon’s head pastor. ‘Outline speakers have ultra-clean clarity and their sound is extremely precise and a pleasure to listen to. When artists have performed in our church, every musician has been satisfied with the sound.’
The main left and right hangs have 12 line arrays elements in two sections: 12 Butterfly C.D.H. 483 Hi-Pack and four C.D.L 1815 Lo-Pack cabinets. The rig is powered by Outline T7 amplifiers and processed by Outline Genius 26 DSP. Front-fill enclosures are Outline DVS 10 and under-balcony speakers Outline IC6T. Stage monitors are Outline H.A.R.D. 45 SP and H.A.R.D. 115 SP, while more Outline DVS 10s are used as choir monitors. The FOH console is a Yamaha M7CL 48, also specified and installed by Hebsiba Multimedia along with the entire AV system.
