Patrick Lau joins TC Group

CHINA: The TC Group has confirmed the appointment of Patrick Lau with immediate effect. Assuming the newly created role of export sales manager, Asia Pacific for installed sound and touring products, Mr Lau reports directly to both the VP of sales for installed sound, Carsten Ishøy and the VP of touring sales Miguel Hadelich at TC Group International.
‘This will be a challenge to me as TC Group offers such a diversified product range in the touring and installed sectors,’ commented Mr Lau. ‘I’m really excited about this as it marks a new chapter in my career.’
Based in his native Hong Kong, the industry veteran brings over 25 years of experience with him to the TC Group. Mr Lau rose from his position as sales manager for the HK distributor Dah Chong Hong (DCH) Ltd in 2000 to international sales manager for Martin Audio in 2008. In both these positions he oversaw the rapidly rising fortunes of the Martin Audio brand in China, particularly in the entertainment sector.
‘What excites me most about my new role is that I am now going to be working closely with the international distributors for the Lab.gruppen, Tannoy and TC Electronic brands in addition to production companies, system integrators and consultants throughout Asia. During my time at DCH, I learnt more about both Tannoy and Lab.gruppen whilst working on several casino projects in Macao. It was then that I realised how well respected both these brands were amongst professionals.’
Prior to his tenure at DCH, Mr Lau was employed by a Hong Kong government department that oversaw venues in addition to liaising with the TV and radio broadcasters.
