PM10 test drive ensures Rama Katha comes to Abu Dhabi

UAE: Abu Dhabi’s Emirates Palace Hotel provided the base for nine days of religious discourse as Artaaj Events organised Rama Katha. The event attracted around 10,000 people in total and as such it required a professional sound system to ensure everyone could hear clearly.

To meet this need Artaaj turned to A/V rental house, Abacus Audio Visuals LLC. In turn, the rental company deployed a Yamaha Rivage PM10 digital mixing system which was supplied through the manufacturer’s local partner, Thomsun Trading under Yamaha’s ‘test drive’ programme. The system comprised the CS-R10 control surface with the DSP-R10 DSP engine and the RPio622 I/O rack fitted with I/O audio interface cards and connected via Yamaha’s new 256-channel TWINLANe network I/O card for optical connectivity.

‘Having worked with consoles from the company’s CL and QL Series, our sound engineers were able to quickly work their way around the tremendous flexibility, processing power and routing of the Rivage PM10 system,’ says Abacus Audio Visual LLC production manager, Shaam Pudaruth. ‘The result was a very clean sounding performance as expected from Yamaha’s flagship digital console.’

The ‘test drive’ programme is available to rental houses and event management companies in the UAE via Thomsun Trading. Email info@thomsun.ae to schedule a demonstration of the console at the Yamaha Commercial Audio Center in Ibn Battuta Mall, Dubai, or to book it for an upcoming event.
