Robe acquires LiteWare

WORLD: Robe Lighting has acquired the complete range of LiteWare portable battery LED products from UK company Global Design Solutions (GDS). With immediate effect the sales, marketing, manufacture and support will be transferred to Robe, and be available through both the company’s subsidiary offices and global distributor network.
‘We had planned on entering the battery LED market for some time, so when the opportunity to acquire the market leading brand came along the die was cast,’ said Robe CEO Josef Valchar. ‘GDS has done a great job in establishing the product range and I know we can develop it further and add to the global sales through our network. It’s also great to instigate this at a time that fits in with the huge growth that GDS is experiencing with their own core market products.’
‘As GDS continues to grow internationally with other innovative products, the company is investing in the ongoing development of the award winning Arc system and other products that are predominantly project based,’ added GDS MD Matt Lloyd. ‘The LiteWare brand has been extremely successful for GDS and Robe taking it on will ensure its continued success and future development.’
