Shingil church invests in Shure ULX-D

SOUTH KOREA: Sama ProSound Co Ltd recently completed a project that saw the team install Shure ULX-D digital wireless systems into Seoul’s Shingil church. Located in Yeongdeungpo-gu, the HOW was founded in 1946, and since then its membership has grown to a reported 7,000.

The church comprises a main worship area with a seating capacity of 3,500 people, a sub-worship area, gymnasium and small group worship areas. Approximately 8,000 people can join the congregation at the same time at each of the worship areas.

For its new building, the church required a new sound solution and a new wireless microphone system to be used across all areas. Sound managing director Yoonho Lee, a deacon of the church, selected the ULX-D digital wireless system based on his experience of using Shure wireless systems.

Shingil church conducts a variety of live concerts ranging from CCM, orchestra, opera to broadcasting, as well as its own praise team worship service. Mr Lee combined the ULX-D wireless system with 10 channels of bodypacks and handheld transmitters to cover each of these services. He also uses one channel of PSM900 due to the church’s praise team leader requesting an in-ear monitor.

‘I’ve been using the ULX-D wireless system for four months and really like the battery charging option of the system,’ said Mr Lee. ‘Since the receivers were installed behind the stage, I use a WWB6 to check the power on/off and battery status of the transmitters, and I was surprised that ULX-D has a very accurate battery status function. I’ve never experienced any audio dropouts or frequency interruption. Its frequency stability is very high, and I’m very satisfied with both the audio quality and design.’

Mr Lee is planning to use ULX-D’s high density and encryption modes in the near future.
