St Josephs chooses HK Audio

AUSTRALIA: Located in the midst of the tropical island coastlines and pristine national parks of Queensland’s Rockhampton diocese, is St Joseph’s parish.  Led by father Peter Tonti, the parish decided early in 2011 it was in need of an audio-visual upgrade.

Ross Cacciola from Mackay Music Installer was tasked with the upgrade. Speech intelligibility was an important requirement for the church, and Mr Cacciola turned to HK Audio through local distributor CMI to meet these needs.  ‘I have used HK for many years and have large quantities of stock in my hire department,’ he explained. ‘It was an obvious choice.’

Following meetings with father Tonti, property officer Ken Kelly, and parish secretary and voluntary church organist Christine Haines, Mr Cacciola opted to install the manufacturer’s IL-8.2 enclosures. ‘Once again I must say I was not disappointed in the way HK is packaged and sounds,’ said Mr Cacciola. ‘I chose to go with the white ILs because they can hardly be seen. This is a great old building and it would be a pity to spoil its original beauty.’

There has equally been praise from St Joseph’s in the way the new system sounds, with father Tonti a particular fan. ‘I love the way my voice sounds through these speakers,’ father Tonti remarked.

For the control of this new audio system, Mr Cacciola decided to go with the Phonic Summit.  ‘It’s great to have a digital console on the market at such a competitive price,’ he explained. ‘It makes running the front end of an audio system so simple these days, especially when budget comes into play.’
