Tates Creek Christian Church upgrades with Hitachi projectors

WORLD: Pro Sound & Lights recently installed two Hitachi CP-WX8255 3LCD projectors into Kentucky’s Tates Creek Christian Church. The HOW specified that any new projectors had to be able to provide a larger image size than its previous ones (from the same distance), as well as consistent brightness, aspect ratio versatility and a white projector unit colour.

The CP-WX8255 3LCD projectors feature a brightness of 5,500 ANSI lumens and support a 4:3 aspect ratio, which was another requisite of Tates Creek. At the end of the installation, the projectors were networked together via an infrared sensor.

‘I’ve been working with Tates Creek for about six or seven years now,’ said Christopher Naughton of Pro Sound & Lights. ‘Their old projectors had lost a significant amount of brightness and after clarifying their new needs, it was clear that Hitachi projectors were the only option.

‘As the installation was for a house of worship, white colour was a non-negotiable item,’ he continued. ‘Tates Creek is in the process of upgrading their formats, so they needed 4:3 in the meantime and the option of 16:9 later down the road. The CP-WX8255 met that criteria as well.’

Since a single all-encompassing vantage point was unavailable, the projectors were cross-fired at two slanted walls in the main sanctuary of the church, hanging from a 5m drop from the ceiling. This resulted in the image size being increased by approximately 25 per cent.

‘The church staff absolutely loves the new setup,’ Mr Naughton enthused. ‘When I first turned the new projectors on, they were immediately impressed with the brightness, image size and clarity.’
