Toshimitsu Tanaka appointed as MD of Epson Singapore

SINGAPORE: Epson has appointed Toshimitsu Tanaka as managing director of its regional office, Epson Singapore Pte Ltd. The current MD, Koichi Endo, is departing the company due to retirement. Mr Tanaka now concurrently holds the positions of MD of Epson Singapore, president/country manager of Epson Philippines, president director of Epson Thailand and director of Epson Indonesia in addition to his new role.

Mr Tanaka joined Seiko Epson Corporation’s (SEC) system devices sales and marketing Department in 1981 after graduating from Waseda University with a Bachelor's degree in Economics. In 1997 he was relocated to Epson’s South and South East Asia regional headquarters in Singapore as the sales director for system devices and projectors, before returning to the SEC global headquarters in Japan in 2003 to oversee Business Systems in the sales and marketing department. After a year, he was promoted to general manager, where he has been credited with driving sales for the business products globally.

In July 2012, Mr Tanaka was appointed as the head of Epson Philippines (EPC), where he was successful in strengthening the Epson brand by creating new business models to fit the local requirements.
