TW Audio ascends at Himmelfahrt

GERMANY: In its 16th iteration, the recent Himmelfahrt (Ascension Day) Festival featured a TW Audio system deployed by technical event company, PML Veranstaltungstechnik. The event is described as Germany’s largest Christian music festival and took place this year at Ludwigsburg’s MHP Arena.
The Himmelfahrt Festival features international stars from the Christian contemporary music genre and this year included performances from TobyMac and Crowder, as well as home-grown acts Outbreakband, Good Weather Forecast and Lea LaDoux. The production setup began for the PML Veranstaltungstechnik team at 5am with rigging complete by the time the doors opened at 5pm.
The main PA system comprised 12 Vera36 line array elements per side with 12 S33 subwoofers in front of the stage, configured in end fire sub array mode. Outfill came in the form of two T24N cabinets at the side of the stage while sidefill was handled by way of two more S33s and another two Vera36 units.
A total of 10 TW Audio C15 units served as monitors and a pair of B18 subwoofers coupled with an additional two C15s provided drumfill. The system was powered via 14 Lab.gruppen amplifier systems and controlled using Lake software. Rational Acoustics’ Smaart v.7 was also utilised for system analysis and optimisation.
