University AME Zion Church takes a QuickStand

USA: Approaching its centennial year, University AME Zion Church in Palo Alto, California began its life as the first African Methodist Episcopal in the city. Today it serves as a multicultural ministry with Sunday Worship Services that are open to all, operating with a ‘comfortable and relaxed’ dress code, as well as hosting movie nights on Fridays and games nights on Saturdays.
With this variety of activities in mind, the church recently sought a new projector screen. However, the sanctuary’s architecture ruled out the possibility of a wall or ceiling installation. A mobile free-standing projector screen was deemed the solution and a 180-inch model from the QuickStand 5-Second Series by Elite Screens was selected.
Also of benefit to University AME Zion Church is that the QuickStand 5-Second Series features a ‘quick’ pull-up mechanism that doesn’t rely on electricity and a wheeled stage case. This means that it can be easily moved around the campus where needed without the need to plug in being a consideration.
‘We were looking for something that was super flexible...so it would allow us to use slides on Sundays and run movie night on Friday, and do game nights with families on a Saturday evening,’ explains Pastor Kaloma Smith. ‘We absolutely love this screen. Easy to move, it works well, and it has amazing picture quality.’
