Biamp and Shure collaborate

With the release of the latest software and hardware additions to Biamp’s Tesira family of audio processors and software, integrated compatibility with Shure’s Microflex Advance series of array microphones has been provided. The products, released at ISE 2017, will be able to interact with the Shure MXA910 Dante-enabled ceiling array microphone, while also possessing the ability to control signal levels within Tesira software. This, both manufacturer’s state, will reduce setup and installation times, while offering a complete digital solution.

System designers are reportedly able to use Tesira’s software to design a complete, integrated A/V system within its drag-and-drop interface. Shure’s Microflex Advance series, meanwhile, features the manufacturer’s Steerable Coverage technology.

‘Interoperability between the MXA910 ceiling array microphone and Tesira processors will make it easier for systems integrators to take advantage of its class-leading voice pickup and steerable coverage in a wide assortment of meeting room applications,’ enthused Chad Wiggins, senior director for networked systems at Shure. ‘Together, they deliver a more powerful yet more streamlined solution, with centralised control, simpler installation, and fewer components.’

‘We’re excited to come together with an industry leader like Shure in an effort to streamline the integration of our products,’ furthered Graeme Harrison, executive vice president of marketing at Biamp Systems. ‘Adding Shure microphone-specific software blocks to Tesira’s cutting-edge software made sense; it allows system designers to easily incorporate the power of Shure mics with the power of Tesira. Other developments in this launch will bring this capability to the whole range of Tesira processors, and we will add additional functionality in future releases.’
